About Us
Welcome to the home of Dayton Stealth hockey!
At Dayton Hockey Association, a registered 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit charity, our purpose is to grow the game by providing a place for kids of all age and skill levels to play hockey. We believe hockey is more than just a sport. It is a conduit for teaching kids a variety of life skills from individual strengths and confidence to sportsmanship and teamwork, along with everything in between.
We provide kids, ages 4 - 18, with a fun, safe environment in which they can learn these life skills while developing their hockey aptitude. Kids from beginners to experienced players are welcome in our programs. We look forward to seeing you at the rink!
Who We Are
Dayton Hockey Association is the product of more than two decades of independent work in youth hockey by the three founding organizations. For years, the Dayton Bluehawks Travel Hockey Club, Dayton Bomber Youth Hockey League, and Springboro Hockey Association were dedicated to growing youth hockey in the greater Dayton area. Each organization had their niche and strived to bring kids and coaches together on the ice. Determined to do what was in the best interest of the kids, families, and hockey, the three organizations pooled their strengths, talents, and memberships in 2012-13 for the inaugural season of Dayton Stealth hockey. Following that successful season, the Dayton Hockey Association formally incorporated and the three founding organizations vacated, becoming one fully unified youth hockey organization.
Our mission is to provide the best possible training, skill development, and player placement, while keeping hockey fun and affordable for the kids and their families. We are committed to skill appropriate player placement in order to help each player hone their skills to become better players on both the individual and team levels. To do this, we strive to provide programs for every youth hockey player, ages 4 – 18, from the beginner to the elite.
Ice hockey is rich with valuable life skills that are as important to impart to young athletes as the on-ice techniques. From the sportsmanship of being a humble winner and a gracious loser to the importance and effectiveness of teamwork, we do our best to teach players these values beginning early and continuing through the older age groups. We believe that it is equally as essential to help kids become well-rounded individuals as it is to help them grow into good hockey players.
Dayton Hockey Association teams wear the Dayton Stealth crest. Our moniker and logo design are a tribute to the integral role aviation plays in our community. Beginning with the legacy of the Wright brothers and extending to the innovation of Wright Patterson Air Force Base and their countless contractors, aviation is key to the strength and integrity of our community. It is only fitting that we recognize and honor that tradition.
