Travel B Division
Our Travel B Division is for newer players or beginner level players who have graduated from our Starter Stealth program looking to play organized hockey. In this division, the priority is focussed on development. Our goal is to give kids the tools necessary so they can move up the ranks and eventually play in our A Division. Our purpose is to grow the game by providing a place for kids of all age and skill levels to play hockey. We believe hockey is more than just a sport. It is a conduit for teaching kids a variety of life skills from individual strengths and confidence to sportsmanship and teamwork, along with everything in between.
Evaluation Schedule
Evaluations for 8U, 10U B, 12U B, and 14U B will be held Saturday April 20th at the Springfield Chiller:
8U Group 1 - 11:10 AM
8U Group 2 - 12:20 PM
10U B - 3:10 PM
12U B - 5:30 PM
14U B - 4:20 PM
Ages
We plan to field one B level team for the 10U-14U age groups. We will add a second team if enough players register. For 8U, we will field one White level team and 2-3 Blue level teams.

- 8U: 2016-2020
- 10U: 2014-2015
- 12U: 2012-2013
- 14U: 2010-2011
When
Our Travel B Division officially runs from mid-September through the end of Febraury.
Where
The Dayton Hockey Association uses both the Kettering Ice Arena and NTPRD Chiller in Springfield for practices and games.
Practices
Teams will practice two times a week, typically beginning in mid-September. Teams will typically have one practice in Kettering, and one in Springfield per week.
Games
Teams in our Travel B Division typically play between 20-30 games a year and participate in 2-3 out of town tournaments through the year. The difference between these teams and a true "House" team is that these teams will have games in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas as well as the potential for out of state games in Kentucky, West Virginia, and Indiana.
Jerseys
Sublimated home and away jerseys are provided as part of the fees for your team. When you register, you will be asked to give sizing info to complete your registration and put your initial deposit down to secure your spot.

Leagues
All of our 10U-14U B level teams participate in the Buckeye Travel Hockey League.
Our 8U teams are also registered with the BTHL and play in jamborees against other league associations.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do evaluations work?
The evaluation fee is $50. Players will need to check in when they first get to the rink where they will be assigned a colored pinnie. They will be evaluated based on skill, hockey IQ, etc. No cuts are made, everyone will get placed on a team.
Does my child have to be evaluated to be placed on a team?
No. If there is any kind of conflict with attending evaulations, or you register later after the evaluations are completed, we will still place your child on a team.
If we tried out for an A team and didn't make it, do we have to attend B evaluations?
Entirely up to you. If you want the extra ice for your child, great. If not, they will be placed on a team anyway. You also will not be charged for B evaluations if you already paid for the A tryout.
If there are multiple teams at the same age level, how are teams divided?
At that point, teams will be divided evenly based on skill.
For 8U, what's the difference between White and Blue teams?
The white level team is basically the "A" team for the 8U age group. That team will be selected by the Head Coach based on skill. The blue level teams are essentially the "B" teams and will be divided into evenly matched teams.
